SCRR D&I Statement
We with the Steel City Road Runners Club are committed to maintaining and further developing
a diverse and inclusive environment within our running group and community. As a local and
regional running club, we welcome any and all to run with us regardless of religion/religious
creed, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry
or place of birth, disability, marital status, familial status or genetic information. Any and all are
accepted and valued at any SCRR group run or training event as our leadership team and
members collectively work to assist and support one another in achieving personal, health and
wellness or performance goals.
Acts of discrimination, racism, sexism or harassment toward anyone will not be tolerated and is
counterproductive to the inclusive environment we want to foster.
We love running. But more importantly, we love all people regardless of our differences. As
such, we are passionate about getting all people to the start line of their running journey and
supporting them every step of the way. Additionally, we are eager to harness running as a
vehicle for change that can permeate beyond our group runs and functions and into society as a
whole.
We understand that our club plays a large role in the landscape of road running throughout
Western Pennsylvania and we are committed to leading by example through continued support
of all members. Whether you are a veteran SCRR member or looking to join, we assure you that
you are welcome, valued and supported here within our running group and community.
We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming group run or start line soon!
